Dispute Tips

Be specific and attach documentation (invoices, proof of payment, contracts, UCC releases). Identify the exact tradeline, the inaccuracy, and the requested correction or deletion. Keep copies of everything you send.

Business Dispute Library

Use these complaint templates to submit issues through the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (consumerfinance.gov). Customize with your company details, affected accounts, and desired resolution, then paste into the CFPB complaint form.

Handwritten Letters Can Help

While business bureaus are highly automated, unique, clearly written letters with supporting docs can still improve outcomes. Consider handwriting in blue ink for key mailings.
